Sophie's first Halloween

Sophie had a fun first Halloween. She was an adorable (not biased!) pumpkin! We went to our church's Trunk or Treat and she loved seeing all the babies and kids dressed up. She just lights up when she sees other babies. Ready to go trick or treatin'!

P.S. I made Sophie's costume...I know, you should be stroking out. It's the first thing remotely close to creative that I've ever made. I couldn't believe it actually turned out so cute, and it fit!

When daddy gets a hold of me!

This weekend we had a nice getaway to Dallas. Matt has a friend who got married in Vegas so we went to the reception this weekend. It was in his parent's house and we pretty much just hung out on the couch. Sophie was all over her daddy.

We decided to check out the backyard. It was huge - at least 2-3 acres. They had a pool with hot tub and then if you walk past the pool there is a pond with a waterfall and tons of open space. They also had a basketball court and two volleyball courts. It was a huge house!
We only stayed a couple of hours and then decided to head to the hotel to check in and get ready to go to supper and then the mall. We bought tickets to a Mavs game, but...
Two somebodies decided to take a nap. So, we ate supper and then went to the Galleria to do some Christmas shopping. We ran out of time for the game, but it was probably going to be pretty difficult to carry Sophie around so it wasn't a huge loss.
We tried to sleep in Sunday morning, but our daughter had different plans. So we took our time getting around and then met my mom and sisters for lunch. We ate at Cafe Brazil and they had the best food and coffee! After lunch Matt headed back home to OKC and we girls checked in to our hotel. They all came down to Dallas to attend the New Kids on the Block concert with me (you should be jealous). Sophie enjoyed the chair at the new hotel while we got ready.

We did some more shopping and grabbed a bite to eat before heading off. Sophie was happy during the "goodbye" picture, but as soon as I left she cried for 2.5 hours.
Good thing I didn't know she was upset, or I wouldn't have enjoyed the concert nearly as much as I did. Here's the opening of the best concert I've ever attended!

We had so much fun! I can't believe we saw them 15 years ago! I can still remember being checked out of school early in the forth grade to go see them. I was decked out in my NKOTB jacket, shirt and huge button of Joey. Not so much this time, but there were tons of girls who were! It was funny to see thousands of girl my age, many of them pregnant, screaming, yelling and jumping up and down.

4 months!

I can't believe Sophie is already four months! Time has flown by! She's getting bigger and bigger and has recently found her screaming voice. She loves to shrill at the top of her lungs, is finally accepting tummy time, plays with her feet, puts her paci in her mouth (aim is a little off sometimes), sucks her fingers constantly and smiles most of the day. Matt and I are sure blessed with a beautiful, happy, healthy baby!

It's almost cold outside

I dressed Sophie up in her cute little jogging outfit tonight so we could go for a quick run. And I mean very quick. Half-way into it it started raining. Not hard, but enough to get her a little wet. Poor thing. She seemed to enjoy it though. Doesn't she look all warm and cuddly?

So Big

I'm posting this picture, not just to show how incredibly cute we are in our color-coordinated (not on purpose) outfits, but to show how huge Sophie is. This child is a week away from 4 months and is wearing a 9 month outfit in this picture. There are so many things she hasn't worn simply because she can't fit into them. Momma Jo took her shopping the other day and had to buy 9-12 month outfits. Where did she come from?? My wonderful friend Lauren reminded me the other day that I was no small child...BUT, she meant in weight. Sophie is actually a little long for having an almost dwarf mom, and her head is almost as big as Aunt Skye's.

I tried it...

...and didn't like it. Mom made me try rice cereal so I would (hopefully) sleep longer than 2 hours at a time at night. All it did was make my tummy upset and make me stay up for 2 hour stretches. Bummer.

Time with Momma Jo

I started back to work a couple of weeks ago. I'm working on Fridays and my mom comes up on Thursday nights to stay with Sophie. Sophie has adjusted well and doesn't seem to mind me being gone. Actually, I think she enjoys having her meals come from a bottle! This past Friday Sophie found Cruz and grabbed her for the first time. She's been grabbing her stuffed animals and holding them for a few weeks, so I guess she thought Cruz was just a larger, more animated version.

She started playing in her exersaucer last week, too. She wasn't too sure about it at first, but as you can see from the pictures, she's gotten the hang of it. She even got so excited at one point she pooped right through her diaper on to the seat cover!
