Momma Sophie

I think I mentioned in the Christmas blog that Sophie got a Cabbage Patch Kid. Well, she is just Little Miss Mom. Every morning when we get up, we go to the living room to play and the first thing she does is give Mackenzie Toni (I know, nice name) a hug and kiss.
Her kisses are so big and slobbery, lucky baby.
P.S. Isn't this a cute outfit. She dressed up for the Sooner beating a couple of weeks ago.
She even has MT play with her during the day.

Guess What...

Merry Christmas

FINALLY!!!! Sorry it's taken so long to post, I was just waiting for all of our Christmases to take place before I blogged about them.
Sophie hopes you all had a wonderful holiday! Our first Christmas was just the 3 of us. Sophie enjoyed her time and loved the wrapping paper.
We're reading her book The Little Sooners

Enjoying all of her new (actually used, but new to her! yes, we're cheap - Matt likes to call it thrifty) toys!

Letting Cruz in on the action.

We had a nice few days in Arkansas with Matt's family. Sophie did well on the 7 hour trip there and back. She was wonderful the entire time!

What a doll!

She loved her rubber ducky with scarf and stocking cap.

But, she really loved the bows!

I can't wait to put these to use!

For the last 27 years my parents have had Christmas with their best friends from high school. There are 4 other couples that get together with them (+kids) and it's a really nice time.
This year Sophie was queen of the party.

She was all over the salt shaker.

Family pic at the party. Of course Cruz was a part of it.

All of the kids with the Baileys.

My BFF! We're 3 days apart and have spent almost every birthday together. Fun times!

My family came over to our house on New Year's Eve for Christmas. We had a lot of fun laughing, playing games, and watching Sophie with her new toys.
Showing off her new shoes.
She got a Cabbage Patch kid!!! Her name is Mckenzie Toni and she was born on my birthday. My dad just had to get it for her. I'm glad he did. I forgot the baby powder smell they have and I've been sniffing it everyday since. It brings back such fun memories. Sophie is so cute with her - she kisses her and rubs her cheeks everyday. She's already acting like a momma.
She got a musical table and loves it! She's able to stand at it unsupported - I better get to childproofing fast!
Too much activity for the dog.
The best present I've ever received! Thank you Jesus for such a blessing!

Happy 6 months!

After 15 attempts of getting a "cute" pictures, this was the best! She's everywhere and was grabbing the paper and crumbling it and wouldn't look at the camera. Oh well - at least I have it documented! Sophie is weighing in at 18#, is 25.5" long and her head circumference is in the 75 - 90th percentile. (Heed! Pants! Now!...movie quote from So I Married an Axe Murderer. It's a funny quote if you've seen the movie. Not funny at all if you haven't!)

Daddy Graduated!!

Matt graduated Saturday from UCO with his MBA! We're so proud of him and so excited that he will be at home every night and won't have to study every weekend! He did so well - was nominated for MBA Most Outstanding Student and graduated 3rd (I think) in his class - all while working full-time and becoming a daddy! Our families came in for the big day and we had a little brunch for him. It made Sophie a little tired...

After her nap (which was during graduation - I had to stand in the back for over an hour and hold her while covering her ears so she wouldn't scream every time an overly excited family member would yell for their graduate), she was more ready for picture time.

She wants to be just like her daddy! (Let's hope!)

Sickness update

The Sophster has a double ear infection and two bright white teef coming through on the bottom left. Fun times! So, we've been nose-dropping, bulb-syringing, snot-wiping, humidifying...and snuggling. That's the best part. Poor thing, she's still as cute as can be!

I'm a slacker

I haven't updated in a while - so sorry. We've all been sick around here and it's hard to get real excited about taking pictures or blogging for that matter. But, here are some fun pictures from the last couple of weeks. The girls hanging out in Weatherford Thanksgiving morning.

Sophie biting the duck's bill - she's teething and I think there are 2 little teef coming through. She refuses to let anyone take a look.

Shaking her booty - this just cracks me up

What an awful face! Her daddy was giving her a lemon and this was one of her first reactions. She actually started to enjoy it and took about 6 more bites!

Cruz + Soph = BFF

We started solids!

And look at the mess it makes! Just about once a day we get one of these explosions...I guess that's just part of it. The first time or two it was a little funny, now I just try to keep my food down while changing her! She's going to kill me one of these days, but doesn't she have the cutest little teaso (that's 'bottom' in Lebanese for all of you whities!)!!
