Baby Dedication

Sophie was dedicated to the Lord on Father's Day. She was the one baby that thought they needed to talk and scream through the prayer. I guess there always has to be one! So, here we are looking at the camera...
and here's Sophie looking at the camera.
and here she is with the purse. It goes everywhere she goes!

Happy Birthday, Miss Sophie!

I can't believe my baby turned ONE! And, I can't believe she was once this small! She's such a big girl now - walking around, playing kitchen, feeding herself, playing in her playhouse, going up and down small steps, playing fetch with Cruz, dancing, SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!
Yes, my baby was born chunky. It's pretty strange to see now. A couple of my closest friends had babies just recently and they were slender and petite - what you would imagine a newborn to look like. I looked at Sophie's fresh-out-of-the-oven pictures and she already had ROLLS!!! I guess that's what happens when you go to 41 weeks!
Morning celebration at Panera! She was walking around waving and talking to a group of older women - what a ham!

Waiting for everyone at the party.

Enjoying sugary goodness.

Prissing around for everyone to see.

Digging in to her cake.

and still working on it

Caleb and Sophie sitting in a tree....

Her first pair of Jordans...what??!! So not fair!
Thanks Uncle Sut!

Oh Aunt Skye, she loves her purse. Too much - it's a little scary!

A purse and a car...
What a wonderful celebration of Sophie's first year of life! We had so much fun and I really think she enjoyed herself as well! No tantrums or screaming or crying. It was a fabulous day with lots of people we love, and who love Sophie!

One Year Ago

Exactly one year ago at almost this very moment, I was doing this. Geez, what a fast year!
I have a feeling there will be a lot of different emotions today! I'll post after all the festivities are over!
You should feel beyond privileged to see these beautiful photos!

You know you're desperate for sleep

when you let your daughter sleep with a tube of toothpaste! Her new favorite thing to do is walk around (yes, she's walking!!!) and chew on the cap of the toothpaste...I guess it feels good on her gums. So, the last week she's been screaming for at least an hour in the middle of the night for no reason. What better to soothe her than a tube of paste? It worked!

Early Birthday Present

Daddy Matt built Sophie the most amazing play house I've ever seen! He's so talented! We wanted her to have a tree house/playhouse for her birthday, but they seem so expensive. So Mr. Builder came up with the plans and got to building her dream house! She loves it! She likes to sit out in it before Matt gets home and peek out the windows waiting for him to drive up. It's pretty cute to see. I'll have to post more when we get the curtains hung, etc!

Florida!!!

We had such a good time in Destin, Fl. Matt and I have been a few times, but it was a first for my family, and of course, for Sophie! She did really well in the car - the 3 of us drove to Little Rock early and visited with Matt's family, then mine came and picked us up in a 12 passenger van!! It was quite a funny site to see. We drove through the night, so Sophie slept almost the entire time. She wasn't quite sure about the sand at first, but got the hang of it when daddy started playing with her.
The weather was pretty nice. It rained off/on one day and our last day was so incredibly windy you couldn't sit out on the beach. That was pretty disappointing. One day didn't get any warmer than about 72, but Sophie didn't mind as long as she was in her cover-up!

The entire group - Soon-to-be Uncle Ethan, Aunt Skye, Aunt Sloane, Soon -to-be Uncle Darren, Giddie, Momma Jo, Sophie, Matt, me, Uncle Sutton
(in case you haven't heard, Sloane and Skye are getting married on the same day!!)

Good-bye, Destin. Can't wait to see you again soon!!

10 months old!

Sophie and Caleb met up at Lake Hefner today to enjoy the great weather. They had a picnic then played on the slide for a little while. I think they both really enjoyed it. There were zero tantrums or fits, which is a huge improvement from yesterday. They both had quite the attitude at church yesterday (I'm sure Caleb's parents are OK with me saying that!!)!

Sophie doing a cheer for 10 months of life!

And let the crying begin...She only had me fooled this morning. She was fussy the rest of the day, as captured here in these photos.

What a sad way to document 10 months...but I guess it documents reality.
